"Life Lines", animation using yarn, charcoal, oil paint, and pen. This was my final for my animation class this semester. We had about a month to complete a short film, and I enjoyed the opportunity to explore abstract movement and personal imagery using messy and tangible materials like yarn and oil paint.
"Violin", animation with pen on paper. Exploring continuous overlapping drawing to depict the feeling of movement and lyricism I observe while playing violin.
"Decay, Cocoon, Life, or Death", animation with acrylic paint on glass. My first exploration of paint-on-glass animation, which was quite enriching and methodical. A fun way to explore more subtle changes in color and shape.
"Dreaming", a flip book animation on notecards, using pencil, charcoal, and conté pencils.
Some explorations with layered ripped-paper animation.
Some explorations with traditional paper animation using a light box.
